When there’s a cancer vaccine…

Early Morning Controversial Statement: One day, when there’s some vaccine for cancer or some surefire controlled drug to cure or keep people from dying from it, long after people forget how terrible cancer was, some conspiracy fear mongers without sources or real randomized controlled studies to back their claims up are gonna make everyone believe the cancer vaccine is the cause of a new mystery disease and many people will believe they’re doing the right thing to avoid the “evil big pharma money making cancer vaccine.”

When cancer cases start to rise again, they’ll say “for me, the ‘proven risks’ of vaccination outweigh the benefits.”

Why go to the doctor at all? It seems like people who don’t trust the doctor about vaccinations will still go to the doctor when they get sick and take antibiotics, which are truly in question these days and there are legitimate studies to back up the reasons for skepticism.

Figure out the truth from the quack. Stop reading and acting on everything you read on the internet as if it’s one big medical journal. The internet is largely a compendium of anecdotes (observing correlations which humans tend to think equals causation) which, if you know scientific terms, is not a good enough source of info to warrant ignoring the advice of your family doctor.

If there is a Randomized Controlled Trial in an online medical journal proving that certain vaccines cause adverse outcomes in children and people, then great. But. There’s Not.

Here’s how I look at it. Not everything your family doctor says is correct. But ALSO not everything Dr. Mercola or Dr. Oz or whoever says is correct either. Why? Because they’re all humans. At least the family doctor is simply relying on current SCIENTIFIC evidence. And Dr. Mercola and Dr. Oz are relying on patient’s/follower’s anecdotal evidence selling you their next book or the latest trendy snake oil (I mean “non-gmo/anti-inflammatory/organic/gluten-free” remedy).
